
Call for Self‑Nominations – AUSU General Election 2026
AUSU is now accepting self‑nominations for the 2026 AUSU General Election.
Eligible undergraduate students are invited to submit a nomination package to stand for election to the AUSU Council. All candidates must comply with AUSU’s election rules, bylaws, and policies throughout the nomination, campaign, and voting periods.
Nomination Deadline
The nomination period runs from March 17 to March 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time.
Late or incomplete submissions cannot be accepted.
Voting Period
Voting will take place from April 10–14, 2026.
All Active AUSU Members appearing on the voters list provided by Athabasca University are eligible to vote.
How to Submit a Nomination Package
To run in the election, nominees must:
- download and complete the 2026 Council Nomination Form
- submit the completed form by email to elections2026@ausu.org before the nomination deadline
- ensure all required information, consents, and declarations are included

Election Rules and Policy Compliance
By submitting a nomination package, nominees acknowledge that they must comply with:
- POL‑007: Elections
- POL‑010: Code of Conduct
- Candidates must comply with AUSU’s election rules, bylaws, and all applicable AUSU policies throughout the nomination, campaign, and voting periods.
- all directives issued by the Chief Returning Officer (CRO)
Failure to comply with election rules may result in disqualification.

AUSU 2026 General Election – Official Results

AUSU has concluded the 2026 General Election in accordance with the AUSU Bylaws and POL‑007: Elections. Voting was conducted by secure electronic ballot.
The Chief Returning Officer (CRO) has certified the results in accordance with Bylaw 7.13. The candidates receiving the highest number of valid votes in each portfolio race have been elected to serve on Council for the 2026–2028 term.

Next Steps
